I have always believed that we are all part of the universe.  We are not individuals marching to our own drums.  Each of us are part of the orchestra of life.  When we are in tune with ourselves, like any orchestra, the sound is just better.

Life marches on; for me that meant being a wife and mother, raising a family, nurturing a household, contributing to our business and the community.  Somewhere along the way, I lost track of which sheet of music I was playing.

Ironically, as I began a journey of well-being & self-care, at the same time I was falling apart.  As I delved into the practice of yoga, and experienced life coaching, I came to realize there were deep seeded life experiences (samskara) that I was not willing to face.  While my physical body was feeling good, my emotional and mental bodies were a wreck, and my spiritual self was a crumpled page of lyrics in the wastepaper basket.  Life was in pieces.

Slowly, and quite unintentionally, I began to experience and become interested in the “pieces”.  I continued to practice yoga.  Along the way, I changed the way I ate.  I attended a support group.  These practices paved the path to healing.  What I hadn’t realized is that I was practicing Ayurveda.

Ayurveda is an ancient science that teaches us that we are meant to live in harmony in our bodies; our body, mind and spirit are meant to work in unison bringing balance to us as individuals, and harmony to the orchestra of life.

I have engaged in the study of Ayurveda and have completed the Ayurvedic Health Advisor certificate program through Hale Pule Ayurveda & Yoga.  This intensive two-year program explores the scientific foundation of Ayurveda and experiential application of the knowledge and tools.  My goal is to empower others to heal themselves from a place of true understanding.
